Project overview

The Honey Bee Overdrive from BJFe is the pedal that started the “low gain” trend around 2006. Originally hand-made in Sweden in small quantities, it has more recently been manufactured in the United States by BearfootFX in both the original version and a number of tweaked variants.

The circuit is a very interesting one to study, featuring multiple negative-feedback loops and a really unique tone control. It’s definitely not a one-size-fits-all effect, but if you’re aiming for the low-gain amp-like buzzwords, the Honey Bee delivers!
